Education Papers


The sixth Education Track, part of the programme of Eurographics 2010, will be held on May 5-6, 2010. The goal of the meeting is to present experiences and discuss new ideas regarding educational issues in the broad field of computer graphics, visual computing and related disciplines.

We are seeking high quality, original contributions, for presentation during the conference and publication in the Education papers proceedings. We also seek panel proposals and short papers aiming to present different points of view on topics relevant for graphics oriented education.

We are interested in contributions from both academia and industry.

Topics

We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics:
  • teaching computer graphics in a computer science curriculum;
  • exploiting visual tools to teach other disciplines;
  • teaching graphics programming;
  • designing curricula for computer graphics and related disciplines (e.g., image processing and computer vision);
  • experimenting educational programs mixing computer graphics with other disciplines;
  • teaching computer graphics in curricula other then computer science;
  • setting up collaborative development tools for visual computing;
  • development of video games as a way to teach computer graphics;
  • teaching the mathematical foundations of computer graphics and related disciplines.

Important dates

Paper submission deadline: 23:59GMT, Friday, December 11th, 2009
Notification of paper review results: Tuesday, January 19th, 2010
Final versions of papers due Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Panel proposals due: Saturday, February 6th, 2010.


Submission details

Submitted papers of up to 8 pages must be formatted according to the Eurographics publication guidelines for Education papers. Submissions will be made electronically through the Eurographics using the Submission and Review Management(SRM) system. Guidelines for formatting of the papers can be found here. Accepted papers will be published in the Education papers proceedings, on the digital conference proceedings, and in the online EG Digital Library. The best Education papers will be published in Computer Graphics Forum and Computers & Graphics by Elsevier.
